We can help you find and fund your study and work goals.

Our free 1:1 support offers mentoring to prepare you for the next phase of life, including help accessing childcare, developing skills and experience, obtaining training and certifications, and access to funding to help you reach your goals.

Plan your next step with ParentsNext

The ParentsNext program is designed to support parents and carers receiving Parenting Payments, with a child under 6 years old, in preparing for employment. You can receive help to:

 

Identify your goals for the future, both personally and professionally.

 

 

Find and fund training and courses that will help you meet your goals.

Cover work and study expenses such as licenses, equipment, and clothing.

 

 

Access suitable childcare options to make work and study manageable.

 

Transport assistance – including driving courses.

 

Access other services that could benefit you and your family.

We’ll guide you through your journey, helping you achieve your goals, whether it’s gaining employment or making significant progress towards your objectives.

  • A parent to a child aged six and under.
  • Receiving the Parenting Payment.

About ParentsNext

ParenstNext is a free program funded by the Australian Government that supports parents and carers who receive Parenting Payment to plan and prepare for work by the time their youngest child starts school.

SSI provides ParentsNext services at locations in Sydney, and SSI business Access Community Services delivers services in parts of Queensland.

FAQs

Am I eligible for ParentsNext?

If you get Parenting Payment and have a child under six, you can ask to take part in ParentsNext. Contact us today to discuss your eligibility.

What will you help pay for? What is the Participation Fund?

As a provider of the ParentsNext program, we have access to a Participation Fund that we can use to help cover the costs associated with your work and study goals. This means we can potentially pay for items such as training, courses, licenses, equipment, clothing, transport and more.

How do I apply for ParentsNext?

To get started, fill in our contact form. We will be in touch to check your eligibility and begin the process.

Is ParentsNext mandatory?

No. As of May 2023, any participation with ParentsNext is voluntary and there are no payment suspensions or penalties for non-engagement.

What if I decide I don’t want to continue?

Your participation in our program is voluntary. Whilst we hope we can support you for as long as it takes to reach your goals, you have no obligation to continue with the program. Your Parenting Payment will not be affected if you choose not to attend any appointments or activities.

I am with another provider. How can I change to join ParentsNext with you?
