Strength in collaboration

Right from the start, our approach to our work and achieving social change has been firmly anchored in the belief that strength comes from collaboration.

We partner with federal and state government departments and agencies, community-minded businesses and individuals. We also build relationships with domestic and global human service-led organisations and NFPs.

Community at the heart

While we have maintained our initial focus on assisting those on humanitarian visas, we today work with a wider group of people experiencing vulnerability.

Communities and groups within which we help build capacity include refugees, people seeking asylum, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, people living with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, women, youth, families and children and LGBTIQA+ communities.

In FY2023, SSI supported more than 56,000 clients across nearly 60 programs and community-based services.
