SSI acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay respect to Elders past and present and recognise their continuous connection to water, sky and Country. SSI remains committed to reconciliation and to working with First Nations peoples to realise "Makarrata" - a Yulngu word meaning the coming together after a struggle.
