Still Outside the Tent: Cultural Diversity and Disability
Cultural Diversity and Disability in a Time of Reform
This review examines the goals and vision of the National Disability Strategy with a particular focus on people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
The paper explores disability and cultural diversity, barriers and challenges and enablers and ways forward to help people with disability from CALD backgrounds to achieve greater social and economic inclusion.
The paper comes at a time of major social policy reform, with the rollout of the NDIS and the shift towards a rights-based and inclusive vision in the disability area.
