Program Update: Emergency Relief services in Logan

From 30 September 2025, SSI will no longer provide Emergency Relief services in the Logan region. We know this support is important and want to make sure you can still access help when you need it. Please see below resources you may find helpful

Ask Izzy is a free and anonymous way to find national and local support. It includes services like housing, meals, healthcare, counselling , legal advice and many more

The DSS website includes information on emergency financial assistance, material aid (like food and clothing), national helplines, and a directory of funded organisations providing Emergency Relief across Australia.

About Emergency Relief program

A personal or financial crisis can make it hard for a vulnerable individual to pay for the essentials of life. The Department of Social Services funds SSI to provide emergency relief services to people in the Logan and Ipswich areas of Southern Queensland who are experiencing financial distress or hardship and have limited means or resources.

Forms of support can include food and fuel vouchers, part payment of bills, food parcels and clothing, budgeting assistance, and referrals to other support services. We complete more intensive referrals for people with complex needs.

How we help

We identify and connect with individuals struggling to pay for living essentials
Staff provide support in the form of food, fuel, clothing and budgeting assistance<br />
People with complex needs are referred for financial, mental health and drug and alcohol support
