Welcome2Sydney sports ambassador


Indoor basketball Welcome2Sydney is a project co-designed by City of Sydney and SSI. The project aims to encourage inclusiveness and strengthen a sense of belonging by engaging ambassadors from the City of Sydney local government area (LGA), to engage in community acts of welcoming refugees/new arrivals. Welcoming sports activities include attending and participating in volleyball, basketball, futsal and soccer games at the KGV stadium.

Community Hubs School Readiness Assistant

School readiness assistants work alongside the Community Hub Leader and/or program support officer/teacher to facilitate school readiness activities for children aged 4-6 years as they prepare for Kindergarten. These Transition to School sessions aim to assist children to familiarise themselves with school culture, programs, facilities and classroom settings.

Community Hubs are located across schools within the Bankstown, Cumberland, Parramatta, Blacktown and Fairfield areas.
