SSI case managers and clients joined the general public in the Fourth Annual Multicultural Cup knockout soccer tournament last month.
The seven-aside knockout tournament was held on June 28, with two teams of SSI clients who are seeking asylum playing off for the championship.

The men who play for Newington Gunners Soccer Club, after a campaign for sponsorship led by SSI, entered two teams into the tournament with the A team the eventual winner.
A team of SSI case managers also played in the 10-team competition, losing by one goal to the eventual Champions.
Tournament organiser and SSI Case Manager Jebin Shahi said a team the event was a fund day that brought together people from many culturally diverse communities around the Sydney.
He said his ambitions for the tournament was to attracted international teams from the many countries that have expatriate communities in Australia. That, he said, would grow the event in to a big celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity and its links to soccer.
Mr Shahi said he hoped to attract sponsorship to make that happen.
