Etienne Roux, formerly Head of Health & Community Services at Access Community Services Limited, has been named SSI Group’s Head of Health, Community Services and Queensland State Lead.
Mr Roux’s appointment follows the recent retirement of the Access CEO Gail Ker.
In 2018 Access merged with Settlement Services International (SSI), to enhance service delivery and provide better outcomes for clients, funding partners and key stakeholders. This merger enabled the organisations to combine their unique strengths while continuing to deliver quality place-based services with and by the local community in Queensland.
Mr Roux has succeeded in many roles with Access in the past decade, from coordinator of “The Next Step” to Youth Services Manager, Executive Manager Social Inclusion & Support Services, General Manager Client Directed Services, and Business Architect.
He is also General Manager of Harmony Place (Centre for Multicultural Mental Health and Wellbeing), a specialist mental health and disability service provider in Queensland.
In his new role, Mr Roux will be responsible for providing leadership to SSI Group’s operations in Queensland, including internal and external coordination of Queensland-based operations, and direct operational management of key service delivery areas, including domestic and family violence, mental health, services delivery under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, asylum seeker support, and Community Hubs, and the overall management of Harmony Place.
SSI CEO Violet Roumeliotis AM congratulated Mr Roux on his appointment, saying, “In addition to his vast experience with Access and social services in Queensland, Etienne has the personal attributes that will ensure the safe, effective, and efficient coordination of SSI’s Queensland-based operations, delivering specialist services that will resolve complex health needs and support individuals and communities to achieve lifetime wellbeing.”
