Victoria has recorded 76 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths, but modelling used by the state government to justify its strict lockdown regime is based on outdated contact tracing assumptions that do not take into account improvements in the state’s public health response.

NSW Health has issued alerts for a cafe, malls, gym and a golf club after they were visited by people infected with COVID-19, while 100 students from the Kincoppal-Rose Bay boarding school in eastern Sydney are self-isolating after one student tested positive. Governments must improve COVID-19 communications to CALD communities

Federation has joined with several community groups appealing for governments to effectively report COVID-19 directives to people with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. "Information is not reaching into many CALD communities in a way that actively engages the communities and individuals to enable them to fully understand what is required of them now and into the coming weeks of the COVID-19 response nationally," letters sent to federal, state and territory health ministers state.
